What does it entail to be a successful blogger?
And what makes a blogger successful anyway?
You have a few levels of blogging, well I see it as a few levels, all the info on these blogs linking too or back , is the information you can use as your basis ( level 1). I m busy rewriting level 2 , and will be done in maybe 2 or 3 weeks. Level 2 Blogging as I call it, will mention Blogging level 2. I planned my marketing around these 3 levels. Each level has smaller parts / plans to complete that level.
A successful blogger is a person that does what he or she likes and also use the knowledge they have to be financially stable by offering a service.
( Level 1 Knowledge)
Now the following is the typical question that many people ask :How can I make money by blogging???... Well first of all, making money is basically just a follower of your passion , just remember IT WILL be hard work if you only blog to make money or if you enjoy it, you will do what you like and be able to be successful etc.. Blogs that are successful have certain characteristics. What are they? Well they tend to all be focused on a commen aspect of life but the blog usually has new ideas, answers to questions, or explains certain aspects to a reader that never understood the topic ( for instance, how can there be radio signals everywhere and you can't see it, but here you are reading this information that used that signal to transfer this into from here to the UK.

Your blog can either be planned or maybe not,by planned , is to sit and draw a plan of your blog, ideas etc..not planned, writing about how bad the food tastes at a certain restaurant you just visited, or about how great place it is / was...usually planned blogs is about something you know a bit more...so it all depends on your knowledge of the subject, topic etc...and if you think a blog isvworth someones time to read...
I like to share knowledge and also like to learn as much as I possibly can. That is what I like and that is who I will be ( Free Will) therefore I blog...many different topics draw my attention, from medicine to nature management and back to psychology. I have many blogs qnd not sure if they are on the www anymore. I wrote them years ago, and I ..well lost track of them...The last few weeks was a bit up and down so didn’t get the CHANCE to BLOG…..but ANYWAY….let us get back to the topic.
We have now two important points to remember , blog about what you like, and be willing to Blog anytime anywhere. You also need to understand, your blogs must have quality content, not the average day content which is commonsense. For instance you write about strippers.... You can elaborate, not just mention the pole you are stripping paint from , will need thinners, but rather mention for 10 poles you will need a minimum amount of 5 liter thinners, and after removing or stripping the pole of all the paint , you will need 5 liters of black paint to repaint your poles. It is a stupid example but you want to go into more detail, people that masters their interests, like Einstein , he could explain mathematics in depth. Now , I hope you are busy making a mind map of the NB points …..well I use flow diagrams. For example I would write my topic on the left of my piece of paper , draw a circle around it and then draw lines to the right to , let’s say 4 more circles. Each circle with a key point in and then. I will elaborate on those key points...and so I will keep going till I have covered enough for anyone to understand, it basically depends on who will be reading the blog, that will determine the amount of detail I will use to explain the topic.
Now here are the platforms you can use to make money from ( you will be advertising products on your blog and get paid by whoever sees a chance to increase their companies profit by advertising on your blogs) . A very important factor that will play a role in your success regarding being financially free , Is the amount of traffic ( people reading your blogs ) you generate to your blogs. So first of all , you need to know who your target market is and where to find them. This is now the marketing of your blogs .
First of all social media connects the whole world, therefore you have access to people who would want to know what you know. The marketing strategies, well I will explain a few strategies that you can incorporate into your marketing plan. They are ( click on the orange words) : The descriptions are vague on this page, because it is basically an intro , and I have written blogs explaining in depth what you need to do so will link them to this website when I find them. Click on the orange writing and you will see a new tab -will open with the whole marketing strategy you must follow:
> • Social Media: for ex Facebook groups . If you enjoy making food , join groups that discuss recipes , cooking etc. Twitter: Follow famous chefs and follow the people in return who are following them as well. As your own following group increases keep your tweets interesting. You can also link to your blog so that they can be the traffic that you will need. LinkedIn is basically the same story. Discuss cooking and also inform the people about your blogs with your unique recipes…..
> • Blogs: written by other people. Comments are allowed, therefore you can speak to other people on other blogs as well, informing them about your blog. ( more traffic generated ) .
> • Paying google to advertise your blog ( AdWords)
> • Free advertising websites Gumtree. Locanto
> • Make use of Public advertising.
> • Emails
> • Smses
> • Start your own Affiliates program.

If you have made a flow diagram you should have an idea what this is all about. Now your aim is to share your knowledge , for instance cars, gardening...rugby...footbal...and also gain more knowledge , becsuse you will read abit more. .., and last but not least your followers will incresse if ypir marketing is correct and your blogs interesting. The question that you will have to ask yourself now, is :
How do you gain followers and keep your followers following your blogs. Well here are a few tips:
- > 1. Write quality content.
- > 2. There is no need to be formal , well I don't care about formal or not, if I find the information interesting I will keep on reading the persons blogs.
- > 3. Make jokes, you are not in a court room, anyway if you go do research on marketing , one of the better ways to approach potential clients are too be more like a helping hand from a friend. Marketing strategies are basically endless....
- > 4. Keep your followers entertained ask questions, mention what you think the answer might be. Don't bore them , with wishy washy info.
- > 5. I use pictures, diagrams etc....it makes your blog a little bit more unique. Make sure you don't copy copyrighted pics etc....it is a bit a tricky on the internet , the same pic might be for free on one website and on another copyrighted and for sale.
- > 6. Attract followers by answering questions on other blogs.
- > 7. Decide which platforms you will use to write your blogs on...on a Facebook page? On WordPress ? Blogger?
- > 8. Use keywords to help Google or the other search engines to categorise and list your blog on their search engine results.
- > 9. Blog anytime and anywhere.
- > 10. Great ideas come at 2 or 3 in the morning. Write them down .
- > 11. Enjoy blogging.

What is marketing all about? I think that is basically impossible to explain, but there are some marketing strategies companies use , big or small, for certain reasons, many are based on neuroscience , psychology or let’s say social psychology. When you market your product / company , you , I don’t want to say it SO bluntly , manipulate the potential customer to think your product or company is a necessity. It is not always the case, many South Africans are buying cheaper products because of the economy, where in the past they would buy only a specific product.
That means, the companies who used to have a steady client base have to up their game, and yes there will always be competition ,therefore you will need to keep your marketing top notch.
How do you keep your marketing top notch?
• Research and more research.
• Designing new methods to market your products / company.
• Take into consideration , a company that does painting will have a different approach ( not completely different : you can base many strategies on the same principles) for example , some companies can create a problem ( client agrees = sales person give a few reasons why their product will be the solution + its on special = sale ) . That is a simple explanation to describe one way of marketing.
• Colour also plays an influence, Facebook , Twitter and LinkedIn has blue logos. Some psychologist state that humans find companies with blue logos/ adverts more trustworthy.
• Playing on emotions: is one of the most influential tactics in marketing. For example , if people have emotional intelligence , or let’s say a higher degree than others will be more n to be a “ sale “ than antisocial people who doesn’t care about others. With that said, the person doing the marketing must at least seem convincing as well. If a person recognises or analize emotional wellbeing of others will therefore “feel their pain” = and have pity= SALE.
• In I think in Japan researcher’s found that if a restaurants toilets are kept clean, they will do better than other restaurants, all though their food might not be as tasty as other restaurants.
• Know your target market well. What languages do your target market speak? What are their social economical status? What cultures do they belong too?
With all that said I can keep going on and write a book of 1000s of pages, but you , who might want to start blogging for the fun of it, will need to analyze your target market, do research regarding questions you would ask= MARKETING STRATEGY = PLAN OF ACTION
. Also remember, your marketing strategy will change / evolve over time.
Marketing on social media is a very important aspect you need to take into account but if you don’t know who or where to find your target market, it will all be senseless. It will not be a success if your interest is fishing and you advertise on vegetarian groups.
Marketing also have ethical issues you will have to resolve yourself. Will it be ethical to manipulate someone with your sales pitch to spend their last R20 on a item they didn’t actually need? That is something I can’t resolve for you.
The best way to create a product, is to identify a problem and be able to design a product that will be the solution.
That is probably one of the most ethical ways to sell products etc. Regarding myself, well I have other motives….not unethical. Not at all. Just personal reasons , which brings also religion / belief system into play.
If I have to create a marketing plan, I will not use a flow diagram but a mind map. Draw a circle in the middle of the page ( I ll write in that circle target market, for instance I blog about marketing . My target market would be companies , may it be small or big companies. For each one there will be a different problem that I will need to be able to resolve and at the end give them an option to only give my services a go for one month, if my services are successful the contract can be extended . If not, well better luck next time, but obviously I might have more than one company that might test my services and they end up as being successful.
Out of failures, well you basically learn what is the answer.

Planning
Planning is a basic everyday “automatic” or “manual” response for us to reach a certain goal / vision.
The mission is basically the steps you take from nothing to your GOAL ( NB mission is also in the end result , your vision is maybe to catch more fish.. ( Vision) . Your vision is what you see as your goal is. Your vision came from some personal reason and when you have reached the end product of your vision , you reached your goal = can now be seen as “ something “ . It is something in the environment not a thought in your mind. It became a reality.
So planning can be seen as all the steps you need to bring your thought and create it in your or other people’s environment. To do that , you will need to take a few steps , it might be 3 steps or 500 steps. Planning can also consist of other small plans inside a bigger plan. For instance you have to get to a few goals before you can roll over to the next goal every goal reached, will draw you closer to your main objective. Like studying, you begin at grade one and can go through many steps to end up with a doctors degree. If you pass your year ( let’s call it micro goals and then you have one macro goal. Micro goals can consist of everyday tasks you need to complete to make sure you reach your macro goal.
To reach your macro goal it will be advised to do proper planning. Just as you would set up a business plan. Now we can start with describing how you must or can plan to make your vision an reality. First of, you can write down your thought / idea .
Now to explain it better, let’s say you want to stop rhino poaching. You have people that believe rhino horns has a very big improvement on their health for whatever reasons, and they are the ones that creates an environment for people to make much money from poaching rhinos and we’ll their horns.
Can you educate them that their believe ( whatever it is ) is a fallacy? Well it hasn’t worked for many years so let’s go and take the “ problem” apart further. The next step will be to focus on the people arranging with people in a lower level of the poaching hierarchy system. They themselves seem to not use rhino horns for medical purposes, so they know what they do is to make money due to the ignorance of the users. There we already have a point * to make money. A common driving force regarding humans. So, we can use that as a point to use in our advantage. If you now look further down this system, the difference between the levels of the poaching hierarchy system is , the one guy which arw higher up makes the most money . ( well let’s say each level the “ product” is exchange it becomes more and more expensive per kg, just like any other legal or illegal product.
We now know that these guys are driven by their desire to make money. That’s 1 point we can use. The next factor we can look at is the way this system works . Where are the most rhinos poached? And why? And also if the most poaching is at those 20 farms, what can we say is common between them. Lack of security? Owners into the poaching trade? Etc etc. ..
So our vision / idea “ Stop Rhino Poaching can now follow a certain route. We can , If the government will, give rewards out to any information that leads to blowing the cover of a Rhino Poaching Syndicate.
Now we must take into consideration. The reward must be more than the reward the person receives from the syndicate . There might be some other issues involved that might cause the person to receive a even larger reward , because he might endanger him and his families life’s . So let’s say we will have to use research the police gathered over the years and design a profile of a primary poachee , secondary and tertiary levels .
Remembrer the cause , to drive someone to go and kill a rhino for money, might be because him and his children havent had food for 3 days...so that means...the reason might be something completely different that must be addressed...

Just to give an example, ok.....lets say...?? Lets say you want email addresses to do some email marketing. You want to blog about remote control cars , because it is one of your hobbies. I ll quickly mention key points that I will use as my plan.
- Find target market- RC Hobbiests
- Twitter search RC Cars Buggies Crawlers etc.. Follow RC magazine companies , RC Hobby Hobby Shops and follow the followers . Message everyone that follows you back.
- Message states thank you : and you offer a product. Your Facebook page has all the latest news , upgrades specials from around the country and you offer them a free email subscription service, where they can state which hobby shops are close to them and want to be updated about their specials 1 ce a week.
- They agree, its cool info + saves them time...
- Your facebook page visits increase + you have many email addresses.
- Last step: Find RC Car companies offering affiliate programs. + you advertise them on your emails -directly to your target market ( you also buy RC Cars on specials now) and gain knowledge + make a few R / $ / € £ ...
